Founded in 1985 at UW-Milwaukee

On Wednesday, April 24, 1985 at 11:00 a.m. Delta Psi Chi Fraternity, Inc. was founded at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. Forsaking the traditional and daring to be different, the founding fathers, known as our 7 Rubies, joined together and created a new brotherhood. Delta Psi Chi was designed as a “fraternity for the 80s” with goals that were both acceptable and relevant in the current times. The purpose was to create a new dedication to brotherhood, community involvement, and academic achievement…some of the things they felt were lacking in their society.

Today we are proud to say that many men continue to make the same choice our 7 rubies made and become Delta men. We constantly renew ourselves by never forgetting why we started. Our founder’s vision has already spread throughout various areas of the United States and to other parts of the world. Delta Psi Chi Fraternity, Inc. has emerged as a model for the way true brotherhoods should be. We continually strive for excellence and superior qualities. Yet we believe in showing what we can do rather than boasting about it. Just ask the dozens of agencies we’ve partnered with over the years such as UNCF, Cream City Medical Society, American Heart Association, etc. and they will tell you there really is something just amazingly different about the Swordsmen of Delta Psi Chi Fraternity, Inc.

Mission Statement:

Delta Psi Chi Fraternity Inc, was founded in 1985 at the university of Wisconsin Milwaukee, by 7 males with the vision of developing a FAMILY of men dedicated to a new brotherhood, with focus on academic achievement and community involvement.  Today, that vision has developed into the reality of Delta Psi Chi; a FAMILY, a brotherhood, a fraternity. Leading by example, forever extending our love for our God, our families, each other, and ourselves! Courage is our guide as we dare to be different, stand firmly for what we believe, and never betray those who trust us.  Always making sure to do what is right and retrieve our own when they seem to have strayed from the straight and narrow path.  Knowing, without the instructions of our Forefathers who journeyed this path before us, we would not be where we are today.  For any time we would fall, our Forefathers would pick us up and lead us down that very path.  Now as we carry our Swords, canopied by the Dove of Love, along the Golden Path, with the knowledge of the Burgundy Book handed to us by our Founding Fathers. We the Brothers of Burgundy and Gold, the Swordsmen of Delta Psi Chi Fraternity Inc, of our own free spirit promise to always remain FAMILY, continuing our new dedication to Brotherhood, Community Involvement, Academic Achievement, Freedom, and Justice until the day our Heavenly Father calls us home.

It is our strong belief that our members can maintain their own unique identities while still being united. Some organizations recruit stereotypes to represent themselves but we search for men with individual character. In fact, we know it is our diversity that makes us stronger.

In our family, every voice counts and every Delta man is respected. We have an organizational culture that always promotes brotherhood and collaboration. We work together not only in public but also when nobody is watching us. We encourage each other to prevail in achieving all of our goals.
