Rockerbox, held annually, is a free motorcycle show and street party that offers an eclectic mix of Euro, Japanese and American café racers, vintage bikes, sport bikes, street fighters, choppers, super motos, scooters, sidecars and cruisers. All bikes are welcome. Attendees are encouraged to enter their bikes in the ride-in show.

For all those who came out for J-Bird‘s “The Black Bird Ride” on May 1st, 2010. We wanted to send out a thank you to all for attending, especially are Brother’s and Sister’s from Infamous Iconz MC ! Motopsychoz MC will hold a ride in honor of J-Bird every year on May 1st. hopefully we can make it bigger and bigger each year so our Brother is never forgotten! FREE BIKER IN THE NAME OF JUSTICE! – Jan 6, 2010 – Wisconsin – A FELLOW BIKER and former MARINE from Wisconsin with a serious medical condition needs your help to simply be set free earlier based upon personal hardship.  “We really need bikers and supporters to sign our petition so my husband can come home where he belongs”, Maury’s wife, Valerie pleaded.

Maury Tradewell a righteous biker and motorcycle mechanic (has put many bikers back on the road from his shop at home) had a serious medical reaction at home several months ago.  His wife called for emergency assistance and the police arrived with aggressive behavior against Maury rather than as an emergency response (because he has a history of being tough).  The authorities arrested Maury saying he was non-cooperative and his probation (of which he completed 4 1/2years without incident with 6 months left) was revoked not long after – thereby imprisoning him for 15 months until completion of his bid in Nov 2010.  

In that time Maury has suffered a brain aneurysm and his health has failed.   While authorities are hard on Maury because he is a biker, supporters like Saddle Tramp Magazine, AlphaBiker.com, BikerLowDown.com Radio and B.A.D.(Bikers Against Discrimination) seek help from the motorcycle world “to sign a petition to modify a sentence for our brother of the open road, Maurice D. Tradewell of Pardeeville, WI.   We are asking for a sentence reduction to time served.”

Nov 3, 2009 – Wilmington, North Carolina – By Laurin Penland – Motorcycle activists say Holly Ridge police in Onslow County discriminated against bikers last month when they stopped traffic, but let cars slip through.  The police only checked motorcyclists for violations.  The N.C. Governors Hwy Safety Program says it supports all kinds of traffic stops, including biker specific ones, because bikers have a higher percentage of fatal accidents than cars.   But Janice MacKay, director of the N.C. Chapter of a biker activist group, says she thinks the stops are unconstitutional.   ”If it were a checkpoint that we’re used to, in other words all vehicles get pulled over and checked, I would not think that it was discrimination. And since this was a motorcyclists only checkpoint, it is discrimination.”   The Highway Safety Program says traffic stops are an effective way to promote safety and to get drivers to comply with traffic laws.

The History of Pumpkin Carving

Without a doubt the most recognizable symbol of Halloween is a pumpkin carved into a jack-o-lantern. To understand the origins of how pumpkin carving began and what it really means we must first take a look at the holiday itself. How long has Halloween been around? Have there always been pumpkins carved? Here are some answers!

For most of the general population it is known as Halloween and is a night for dressing up, telling ghost stories, having spooky parties, trick-or-treating and pumpkin carving. What most people don’t know is that Halloween is actually based on an ancient Celtic holiday known as Samhain (pronounced “sow wan”), which means “summer’s end”.

It was the end of the Celtic year, starting at sundown on October 31st and going through to sundown November 1st. It was a night to honor loved ones that had passed on since the veil between their realm and ours is at it’s thinnest on that night.

Celebrated for centuries by the Celts of old, Witches and many other nature based religions, it is the most magical night of the year. It is the Witches’ New Year, and the Last Harvest. Although the religious significance of it has passed for the general public, Halloween is a “magical” night for all!

On this magical night, glowing jack-o-lanterns, carved from turnips or gourds, were set on porches and in windows to welcome deceased loved ones, but also to act as protection against malevolent spirits. Burning lumps of coal were used inside as a source of light, later to be replaced by candles.

When European settlers, particularly the Irish, arrived in American they found the native pumpkin to be larger, easier to carve and seemed the perfect choice for jack-o-lanterns. Halloween didn’t really catch on big in this country until the late 1800′s and has been celebrated in so many ways ever since!

Pumpkins are indigenous to the western hemisphere and were completely unknown in Europe before the time of Columbus. In 1584, the French explorer Jacques Cartier reported from the St. Lawrence region that he had found “gros melons”, which was translated into English as “ponpions,” or pumpkins.  In fact, pumpkins have been grown in America for over 5,000 years. Native Americans called pumpkins “isquotersquash.”

Did you know that pumpkins are not a vegetable – they are a fruit! Pumpkins, like gourds, and other varieties of squash are all members of the Cucurbitacae family , which also includes cucumbers, gherkins, and melons.

Kurt has been a professional custom painter and airbrush artist for 34 years.  In 1975 he graduated from Milwaukee Area Technical College with a degree in Commercial Art with a concentration in airbrush.  He first worked as an illustrator at an advertising agency where he did both illustration and airbrush work while doing custom paint jobs on the side.

In 1984 he went into business for himself.  He does full custom paint jobs and airbrush murals, flames, realistic flames, and graphics.  Custom painting motorcycles is his passion.  He takes great pride in his work and believes in giving my customers an outstanding quality paint job.  Each individual customer is given personalized service.

Kurt has painted motorcycles that have won first place and best of show awards, and American Iron Magazine featured a motorcycle he painted.  His illustrations have won international awards.  In 2007, he received second place in the Wisconsin Pheasant Stamp Contest and have finished in the top ten several times.

He painted a patriotic-themed motorcycle called the “Freedom Cycle” for a raffle.  A portion of the proceeds went to help children of 9/11 victims.  The cycle was signed by Rudy Giuliani and Willie G. Davidson and was mentioned on Jay Leno’s “The Tonight Show.”

Besides painting motorcycles and helmets, he also does full custom paint jobs on cars, airplane nose art, murals on motor homes, boats, tailgates, guitars, and leather.  Each paint job is unique, and he gives close attention to detail.

When you ship your cycle parts or helmet to him, he will first email sketches to you for your approval.  After the paintwork is finished, he will email you photos before return shipping.
